Preparing for the SAT

The next official SAT test day is quickly approaching on Saturday, May 6, 2017. Being prepared and knowing the procedures ahead of time can help alleviate unnecessary stress on the day of the test. The College Board website provides all the details about SAT test day. As the test day checklist indicates, it’s important to bring “your admission ticket, an acceptable photo ID, two No. 2 pencils with erasers, and an approved calculator.” You can read what other helpful things you can bring and what is prohibited here. The College Board also provides an overview of what to expect on test day, for example, the doors open at 7:45 a.m. and close at 8:00 a.m. It’s also important to know the policy for electronic devices during the test and during the breaks because “your scores will be canceled if you don’t follow the rules around devices.” You can read the full details of what to expect on test day here. Being prepared and familiar with the SAT testing procedures is a strategy for success!
