What's the best piece of advice you can give to upcoming seniors/current juniors?

Do not put off your applications! The summer is the best time to do all of that work. Having finished most of it by the start of the school year was so nice, especially when my teachers started increasing my homework load, it was so nice to not have those to worry about as well.

What are you most excited about for next fall?

I’m most excited about being on my own. I’m very close with my family, but I’m really looking forward to having to be independent and having to take care of myself. Being halfway across the country, I’m going to be surrounded by thousands of new people and I cannot wait to test myself like that.

Tell us about why you decided to participate in the NROTC Program and how you anticipate it will affect your college experience.

I decided to participate in the NROTC program for a number of reasons. One of them is familial tradition; I come from a pretty big military family and I’ve always wanted to continue that lineage. Also, I feel that we all have a civic responsibility to this country and I’m looking forward to serving. Being apart of the NROTC unit at OSU will give me a greater amount of responsibility than if I weren’t. Also, it will allow me to be a part of a smaller community on campus, making the overall size of the school a little less intimidating.
